Leopards at Fred de la Bretoniere

Thu, 11/03/2011 - 8:56PM by studioeah 0 Comments - 148 Views

That is perhaps the last thing you expect when you go to an opening of Fred de la Bretoniere. Fred's designs are known for his pure and raw use of leather for mainly shoes and bags.

The previously launched ( during his forty years brand celebration) leather clothing collection in collaboration with Sjaak Hullekes has now got its own beautiful boutique in Amsterdam Old South. Sjaak also developed its own pretty simple signature as a young designer. A very talented young designer. See his work here: http://sjaakhullekes.blogspot.com/ Overall a great match for a collaboration. And even he is the young Dutch fashion design talent who Fred believes in for the future and invested heavily. But still, a lot of women apparently ( when they stood in front of their wardrobe) thought this: "Today I am going go to a store opening of Fred de la Bretoniere, "What should I wear? Yes!! a leopard print." How funny is that! Maybe not such a crazy thought, because Fred also used to create designs with amazing animal skins in the past, like snake or crocodile leather. Is that wild adventurous thing perhaps more what Fred orginally is to me and those women? The young attractive rebellious adventurous leather artist who made every single piece himself, loves celebrating life and travelling to Asia. He enjoyed working with my mother, who was at that time at a very influencial fashion stylist of fashion magazine Avenue. That's how we know eachother. I know Fred, since I was a young kid, as a cheerful happy man who can tell the best jokes and is a real good story teller.  Full of energy, creativity and always has the most beautiful women around him. To me an inspiring man full of colour. Even his daughter is a true beauty.

Then this simple clean cut and unfeminine leather tops and dresses? Does the raw touch, that works perfect for accessories, also has to work for a clean fashion piece cut? Anyways. Who am I to judge about it. Most importantly, he believes in supporting young talent and gives this young designer who he really believes in, the opportunity to have a platform to grow.  Who knows, Sjaak will be his future head of design. I think that many fashion businesses today should take this as an example in these rather difficult times. To give a real platform to one young designer you really believe in. Once, in the very beginning, thanks to him I got the chance to import the finest materials from Italy for my bags collection. Which I am still very grateful to him. He also gave many remeaning leather pieces to me, which I have made of my very first very bags.

(Most bloggers are placing a piece immediately after they have attended an event. Sometimes I prefer to take some time. A few weeks ago I visited this new store opening in Amsterdam Old South. Below more images, x x x)

A girl needs 4 animals in her life...

Thu, 11/03/2011 - 3:48PM by studioeah 0 Comments - 110 Views

Ofcourse most know I am totally against fur, but I actually love this little hilarious poem (below). Also I am not such a big fan of the bloody scary Frankenstein, Zombie, dead devil brides, open wounds, Halloween cheap non-creative party shop outfits. I do like the fact a few zombie walks worldwide honoured Michael Jackson and his famous Thriller hit. To me Halloween parties need a covering theme to make it look all together more creative. Like dead Hollywood stars or any other more chiquer theme. Like a delicious flamboyant sauce. So people really need to be creative and still can look fabulous. Like a "Ball" or "Gala" theme. I decided to be a naughty night cat...(ok that isn't really creative either, but was not even planning to dress up for Halloween in the first place, so put it together in 5 minutes). Maybe I just do not like blood and men who normally are shy or scared to say hello to me, finally feel secure and convinced enough to approach women with their scary halloween looks. Had a fabulous night out with friends at The Ball at Ludwig II hosted by the always fantastic fabulous talented Sunny ! She organised Vampire Ball! And on top of it all a fantastic performance of Camilla Tuhuleruw. Wow loved her look. Omg, Wish I could preform like that! Actually loved the look of every person walking around there that night. Everybody was wearing exciting sexy darker fashion looks. Ludwig II at Rue du Vaseline in Amsterdam has a great ambiance. The back area feels like a club in London... In the mirrored toilets I had a little-mini-shoot-moment with my dear model friend Roosje Schilling. We thought the snapshot with a Blackberry worked out quite well...enjoy!

A girl needs 4 animals in her life.

A MINK in the closet.

A JAQUAR in the garage.

A TIGER in bed.

And an ASS to pay for it all!

EAH! PARTY

My heart is solid
My mind is floating
My head is bouncing
My legs are jumping up and down
My feet are kicking in all directions
My hands are waving
My arms are flapping like EAH! bird
My body is dancing
I am at EAH! arty party

Like The Garden of Eden

your touch like butterfly wings
soft warm was the kiss
alluring persuasion
eyes burnt with your image
as the sunsets over the mountain
your love a familiar bridge
over troubled water
a flower so youthful held sweet nectar
is a gift ancient as time itself
you were the hurried worker bee
stirring and tending the honey
only sunrise awoke you from the sweet feast
I the queen bee enticed you
with the kiss of ruby lips
a perfume ambience held us
entwined, woven hearts bleed lovely
as the scarlet rose on dewy morning.

EAH! @ night and evening accessories.

Wed, 09/07/2011 - 6:47PM by studioeah 0 Comments - 481 Views

Love to design evening accessories like bags and necklaces. Wearable for a special night out or any other special occasion. Festive unique designs that make an outfit unique and original. Prefer to use my own lifestyle as my brand identity for EAH! Do not commit myself to so-called target groups. Create what I would like to wear only. My lifestyle is certainly not just about luxury, but to enjoy it with dear friends and family. Where or how does not really matter. Below a serie of photograph collages. A fun night out with good friends and good food at the new prestigious restaurant 'Bridges' at the exclusive luxury hotel 'the Grant' in Amsterdam. A number of charming pictures of the 'White Butterflies' necklace and the 'Sparkling Nude' evening bag together with the restaurant's ambiance delivered an atmospheric result. Used materials for the accessories are vintage buttons, crystals, Swarovski, lasercut plexiglass and vintage beads. EAH! hopes to inspire everyone to enjoy life and every moment. Life is a party, but you have to hang the garlands by yourself. Start doing things you love and do it often. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Getting lost will help you find yourself. We are united in our differences. Life is short. Live your dream and wear your passion. Wear an EAH! and celebrate life! x x x EAH!
